Welcome & Introduction
Good morning! Welcome to the blog of Rewild Revolution! My name is Amy and it has been an honorable journey over the past few months putting my affairs in order to bring you content that benefits and nourishes your mind, body and spirit and the wild around you!
If you don’t mind, I would like to start off with an introduction of myself and the message of Rewild Revolution; what I hope to achieve and open up for you all.
Rewild Revolution originally started out as a pure idea for conservation. All my life, I conceptualized tons of business ideas, all of which I executed only to a short extent forward. And those that I did try wholeheartedly only morphed into new ideas, which eventually dread out. But Rewild Revolution is different. For one, it encompasses more than just wildlife protection— it is a unifying movement put in place to balance aspects of our life including our mind, our bodies, the land, our human history, our souls— weaving in and out of the physical and connecting to the spiritual dimension of our lives.
There is more than one way to “rewild” — yet all point to a return to the freedom of something that once was truly free. Whether that belongs to the human spirit, the growing habits of the plant biodiversity of our native lands, the wildlife’s ability to roam and hunt, or a simple “return-to-the-earth” mechanism like gardening or forest bathing. And because all of these features coexist, our mission is broader, yet more direct to successful rewilding.
Now you may be wondering, what exactly is '“rewilding”? It’s good that you ask, because how can you know the importance of it and the call to enact it, if one lacks knowledge of what it is? According to the Merriam Webster’s Dictionary, “rewilding” has two definitions. The first being ‘an effort to increase biodiversity and restore the natural processes of an ecosystem that typically involves reducing or ceasing human activity and often the planned reintroduction of a plant or animal species and especially a Keystone species.’ The second definition recognizing rewilding as ‘returning to a more natural or wild state : to make or become natural or wild again.’
At Rewild Revolution, we apply these definitions to more than just the environment around us. We also take into account that our very own individual bodies are environments, all with the ability to return to a balance of the natural processes. Oftentimes, this does relieve us of the act of consuming foods that have too much “human activity” involved in it, leading to hormone disruptors, illnesses, inflammation and more.
